The Kano APC State Chairman, Hon. Abdullahi Abbas, gave the ultimatum in a petition dated November 23 to Dedeli.

Prime Minister Abbas said in a petition titled “Harmful and malicious false statements against the judiciary and our party on live television and voice notes circulated on social media: demand for retraction.” He said:

On November 23, 2023, Dedeli was featured on Channels TV’s Breakfast Show, where he made harmful accusations of corruption against the judges of the Kano State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal and the judges of the Court of Appeal who heard and handed down the judgment. I also remembered that I had made a serious allegation. The appeal of Abba Yusuf and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) was filed in Appeal No. CA/KN/EP/GOV/KAN/34/2023, Yusuf Abba Kabir vs. APC and 2 Ors.

In the interview, while commenting on the court’s decision to dismiss Yusuf, Mr. Abbas maliciously and falsely claimed that the court’s decision to have Mr. Dedeli deliver his sentence over Zoom was an attempt to interfere. he added.

“In light of the above, I request you to come forward and name those who are interfering with the decisions of both courts,” he said.

“This will go a long way in cleansing society of corruption. It will also clear my name and protect me from unnecessary attacks from your comments.

“However, in the absence of evidence of the serious allegations you have made, I demand that you publicly apologize to me and my party for the embarrassment you have caused us.

“Therefore, by this letter I give you a 48-hour ultimatum to substantiate your claim to the judge and the judge that you were influenced to make a decision contrary to the law as you allege. .

“If you do not comply with my requests as above, I will not hesitate to file a complaint against you with the Lawyers Disciplinary Committee and also intend to file a defamation suit against you in court.” Please note that I do so without any further reliance on you.”
