The Ibom Peoples Congress (IPC), the Akwa Ibom organization in the United States, has called on President Bola Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio and all security agencies in Nigeria to ensure the release of Akwa Ibom candidates. The IPC called on the president to “direct the Nigerian military, police, intelligence agencies and other security agencies, as appropriate, to facilitate the immediate release and return of the abducted personnel.”
In response to the prevailing security situation in the country, the group also recommends an overhaul of the NYSC system to make it more responsive and adaptable to the country’s current security and economic realities.
