Adeyinka backs Obasogie and Bankole to break NPFL clean sheet record

Kwara United goalkeeper Adewale Adeyinka supported the duo of Amasu Obasogie and Kayode Bankole to break the Nigeria Premier Football League record for most clean sheets in a single season.

Adeyinka holds the record for most clean sheets in a single season by a goalkeeper in the NPFL.

The shot-stopper kept 16 clean sheets during the 2020/21 season.

Bendel Insurance's Obasogie and Remo Stars' Bankole are tied with 13 clean sheets this season.

“It's a real honor to have achieved that feat in 2020/2021,” he told Lodgexpress.

“Breaking Suraj Aieroso's record was a proud moment for me and something I will always cherish in my career.

“Kayode Bankole and Amas Obasogie are both talented goalkeepers and I have great respect for their abilities.

“It's not easy to keep a clean sheet in the NPFL, so it's commendable to see them perform at such a high level.

“As far as the chances of them breaking my record, anything is possible in soccer. Records are made to be broken, and if I keep up this great run, I have a good chance of surpassing it.”
