Adamawa Police Command imposes sanctions on violators of motorcycle ban

The Adamawa Police Command said motorcycle movement restrictions remain in place in some parts of Yola North and South Local Government Areas and violators will be subject to sanctions.

This was contained in a statement signed by the command's spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nugrozeh, and made available to the press in Yola on Friday.

He said the ban on motorbike movement in Vinikran, Federal Housing Estates, Ngulore, Waulu Jabe and Jorde Pate areas had not been lifted and the public needed to comply.

“The command observed violations of government orders regarding the operation of motorcycles in these areas.

“People have been seen roaming around these areas on motorcycles disguised as bicycles,” he said.

“The Commissioner of Police, Mr Dankombo Morris, reaffirms his commitment to ensuring the maintenance of law and order and urges the public to comply with such orders.

“He likewise directed the divisional police officers to monitor compliance and crack down on violations,” it added.

He said the CP had directed police station officials in the affected areas to enforce the order by arresting and prosecuting violators.

He stressed that the command will not allow thugs or misguided forces to operate without resistance.
