Adamawa Governor, Fintiri insists on quick start of Mambila Hydropower Project in Taraba

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has stressed the need for the Federal Government to begin work on the Mambilla Hydropower Project as soon as possible.

He said work must begin on the project as it is of vital importance to the development of the region and Nigeria as a whole.

The governor made the call on Monday during the 10th anniversary celebrations of Mambilla Chief Dr. Shehu Baju II at Sardauna, the executive headquarters of Gembu House of Assembly in Taraba State.

Speaking through the Adamawa State Government Secretary, SGS Barrister Awal Tukur, Fintiri highlighted the economic growth potential and positive impact on local livelihoods that such infrastructure projects bring to the region.

He called on the people of Mambilla region to embrace peace and unity.

He also stressed the importance of working together to ensure joint development efforts between neighboring countries.

The Governor reaffirmed his commitment to fostering positive relationships and promoting development efforts across state boundaries.

The Aku Uka of Wukari, Elder Manu Ishaku, has appealed to traditional rulers across the state to support the state government in its peace drive.
