Buba said the military also rescued 139 hostages in the northeast, north-central and northwest theaters and recovered 141 types of weapons and 1,463 pieces of ammunition.

He said the recovered items included one general purpose machine gun (GPMG), one GT-3 gun, one assault rifle, 49 AK-47 rifles, one Joseph Magnum pump-action rifle, It is said to include one double-barreled gun and two. Single barrel gun.

Other items included nine domestic pistols, 13 Dane rifles, one hand grenade, seven domestic rifles and two domestic hand grenades. He said that in the northeast, troops of Operation Hadin Kaih (OPHK) arrested three suspected terrorist collaborators on November 17 at Gujiba local council in Yobe.

He added that the suspects claim they were forced to perform an errand by the terrorists. Buba said 108 terrorists and their families, consisting of 13 adult men, 32 adult women and 63 children, surrendered to the military in the operational area between November 17 and 23.

He said the military had neutralized 19 terrorists, arrested 21 people and rescued eight hostages within a week across the theater. Buba said that in the North-Central region, Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) forces neutralized three terrorists, arrested 32 people, rescued eight hostages, and recovered various types of weapons and ammunition. .

He said troops of Operation Whirlstroke (OPWS) raided hideouts of criminal suspects in Takum City and Katsina-Ara Local Councils in Taraba and Benue States, neutralized two terrorists and arrested nine others. He added that three hostages had been rescued.

He said the military also recovered an AK-47 rifle, one magazine and 27 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition. In the northwest, Operation Hadarin Daji (OPHD) forces neutralized 20 terrorists and arrested 20 others, a defense spokesperson said. and rescued 83 hostages in various operations in Katsina, Sokoto and Zamfara states.

He added that the air component of the operation carried out an air interdiction against the targeted terrorist leader’s enclave known as Larbina Gogo. He said the enclave was located within Danmusa Local Council of Katsina State and the location was attacked with rockets and artillery after it was confirmed that the terrorist and his infantry were there.
