Abia police arrest man on suspicion of defrauding minors


A 37-year-old man, Anumudu Chigojie, a resident of Umuobiokwa village, has been arrested by the Abia State Police Command on suspicion of being involved in “illegal sexual knowledge of a minor”.

Chigozi, who previously worked as an on-air personality (OAP) for a media company in the state, was arrested by men from the East Gwa Division of the Abia State Police Command in January. 1st, 2024.

While the details of his arrest and crime have not been disclosed by the police, the PPRO of Abia Command simply confirmed the development and said the matter would be prosecuted in court after careful investigation.

Confirming the arrest of the suspect, the PPRO said:

“The Abia State Police Command received on January 1, 2024, a report of allegations of illicit sexual knowledge by Mr. Anumudu Chigojie, 37, a resident of Umuobiakwa Village, East Gwa District.

Mr. Chigozi is accused of having unlawful sexual knowledge with a minor (name withheld). A careful investigation is underway and the matter will be brought to court. It is.”

Recall that some Abia-based media organizations recently reported that the alleged rape victim was a 15-year-old teenager.
