Abdullahi praises Akwa United players after win against Abia Warriors


Akwa United head coach, Umar Abdullahi, praised the positive reaction of his players in the win against Abia Warriors.

Promise Keepers fought back from under the goal to defeat Abia Warriors 3-1 at Ekett Township Stadium.

Onu Emmanuel's goal gave the visitors the lead, while goals from Mubarak Saad, Mohamed Hadi and David Philippe secured the highest points for the hosts.

Abdullahi said the players showed good attitude in the match, which led to the victory.

“The players showed good attitude to get the win against Abia Warriors,” he said in the post-match interview.

“The right attitude is what will get us out of the situation we are in.

“I salute the players for their victory and the management for giving us a free and level playing field.”

With this win, Akwa United moved up to 16th place.
