A criminal who goes far beyond security measures—Former IGP Okiro
Former Inspector General of Police Mike Okiro has advised the Federal Government to fight the security situation with technology rather than manpower, saying criminals are ahead of the security measures planned by various security agencies against them. he claimed.
Speaking at the Old Seminaries Association of Nigeria (OSAN) convention on Friday, Okiro noted that there is a need to upgrade and effectively implement the country’s security architecture and technology to address insecurity.
Dr. Ojichukwu Fidelis Chukwu, in his keynote address at the conference, said the current situation in Nigeria, with its myriad problems, is hopeless and the people feel helpless.
“The theme of this conference, “Building a Fraternity for Prosperity,” is a good thing, but it must also apply to the Nigerian society, which is in a state of despair and national helplessness.
“In doing so, we need to add more value to society and set an example no matter what position we are in,” he said.
