62-Year-Old Man Allegedly Rapes His Neighbor's 7-Year-Old Daughter in Ekiti

A 62-year-old farmer, Sunday Falana, has been arrested for allegedly raping his neighbor's 7-year-old daughter in Aaye Oja-Ekiti, Moba Local Government Area of ​​Ekiti State.

The suspect, popularly known as Sebukky in the community, allegedly contaminated the minor at around 7:45 pm on Saturday, November 25, 2023.

Narrating her ordeal at the community police station, the victim, a primary school student at Saint John Anglican Primary School in Ilegosi area of ​​Oja-Ekiti, explained that the suspect invited her in the company of her brother, Segun, to come and eat rice cooked in your apartment.

She added that the suspect sent her brother away on a mission during which he lured her into his room and allegedly had carnal knowledge of her.

“The man carried me and put me on the bed inside his room and forcefully took off my pants. When he was unable to penetrate my private part, he opened the cupboard and took out something creamy, which he used to steal his private part before forcing him to have carnal knowledge of me”, explained the minor.

The victim said she was crying during the process, but the suspect warned her not to cry, warning that she would die if she informed anyone.

The victim's mother, Funke Awolola, in her own version of the story, said she was doing some household chores at home that Saturday night when her 10-year-old son, Segun, came home without his sister, Bidemi.

The mother said that when she asked his sister's whereabouts, he said she was with “Sebukky”.

According to her, when her daughter did not return on time, she went straight to Sebukky's house, but the man refused to open the door for them.

“At first, my daughter refused to tell me. She later told me that Sebukky undressed her and defiled her. I was crazy. She said he initially put his finger in her private parts, but that day he inserted his manhood into her private parts.”

The victim's mother said the case was reported at the palace of the community's traditional ruler, where it all attracted widespread condemnation, and later reported at the police station in Otun-Ekiti.

Spokesperson of the Ekiti State Police Command, DSP, Sunday Abutu, confirmed the incident, adding that the suspect has been arrested and will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) at the police headquarters in Ado Ekiti, for prosecution when the investigation is complete. he concluded.
