4 people killed in lightning strike in Nasarawa district

Over 10 people were hit by thunderstorms in Nasarawa, leaving four dead and others in critical condition at undisclosed hospitals in the state.

The incident occurred on Saturday at Nasarawa Depot in Nasarawa Local Government Area of ​​the state.

Mahdi, a witness, described the incident as follows:

“A few minutes ago I witnessed the most violent and terrifying lightning strike here in Nasarawa.

“When I was repairing my car at Nasarawa Garage, I suddenly heard a loud roar and a bright light. In fact, many people ran without knowing what it was.

“Shortly after the thunderous event, a gathering was held under a tree where it was discovered that three people had tragically lost their lives to lightning strikes.

“I have never seen anything so horrifying in my life,” Mabdi said.

Hajarat Danyaro Ibrahim, Honorable Member of Parliament representing Nasarawa Central Constituency and Chairperson of the Women’s Affairs and Social Development Committee, expressed his heartfelt condolences to the affected families.

“My condolences go to the families of those who lost their lives and sustained various degrees of injuries in the lightning strike at Nasarawa Garage/Maintenance Shop in Nasarawa Local Government,” Ibrahim said in an official statement.

“We pray that Allah grants those who lost their lives and their families the fortitude to bear this great loss.”
