2024: Redoubling service delivery efforts – Ministerial Task Staff


The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr. Beta Edu, has tasked ministry officials to redouble efforts to achieve President Bola Tinubu’s poverty reduction goals in the country.

Ms Edu made the accusation in a statement issued to reporters on Thursday by her media aide, Rasheed Olanrewaju, in Abuja.

The statement added that the minister was addressing ministry staff on his first day in office in the new year.

According to her, the task of lifting millions of Nigerians out of poverty is a collective responsibility that must be achieved through hard work and dedication to duty.

The Minister also called on the humanitarian sector to ensure renewed efforts and support to lift vulnerable Nigerians out of the poverty index by 2030, in line with the SDGs.

In the statement, the minister was quoted as saying that the president is committed to eradicating poverty and alleviating humanitarian challenges by the end of his administration.

“The most important thing is that we have to be clear about our goals and focus on achieving them.

“We must have transparency and accountability in our dealings, and we must prioritize the welfare of the poor in all intervention programs. That is why we must work as a team. .”

Mr. Edu assured Nigerians of his determination to work diligently to fulfill the President’s mandate on poverty alleviation.
