2024: Nasarawa PDP calls on residents to embrace peace and unity

As Nigerians usher in the new year, the Peoples Democratic Party PDP Nasarawa State Chapter has called on residents to prioritize unity and peaceful coexistence.

The party said it was important to remain resolute in promoting peace and harmony.

In a press statement issued in Lafia on Monday, the state PDP chairman, Francis Ologu, said residents must avoid all forms of resentment, anger and provocation that could lead to violence.

He said the appeal was particularly important given the general security challenges facing the country.

“As we enter the new year of 2024 and await the Supreme Court's ruling on the gubernatorial election, we must put on the back burner any action that could violate national unity and peace,” Olog said.

The Speaker reminded residents of the power of unity and urged residents not to promote discord or religious sentiments.

He expressed optimism that the mandate given to the PDP governorship candidate to seek positive change in Nasarawa would be upheld by the Supreme Court in terms of justice, equity and fair play.

“With the available facts, we are confident that we will regain our mandate at the Supreme Court. We therefore call on all our supporters to carry out their daily activities peacefully,” Olog said. he added.

The PDP called on its supporters to uphold the rule of law, demonstrate a sense of responsibility and avoid actions that could lead to the breakdown of law and order.
