A Twitter user has began a conversation about the activities of married men who reside alone in Lagos after relocating their households abroad. The user wrote: “Theres a married men pandemic in Lagos. “Those who have sent their spouses abroad and wont permit single girls breathe in peace. The authorities must step in at this level. Another Twitter user replied: “Its a lie ooo The married women in Lagos are cheating oo.” A 3rd user wrote:”‘sent their spouses’ where ?? or the spouses sent themselves and are sending foreign currency to their cheating partners.” The tweets have led to a conversation about the japa syndrome and its results on households.
