The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Usman Alkali Baba has stated that the May 29 inauguration date remains sacrosanct whereas giving out a warning to politicians and political events. Giving the warning on Monday, May 15, the police chief stated they have been working carefully with the nationwide intelligence group to cease any incident that may have an effect on the nation’s safety pursuits. He stated; Following the profitable conclusion of the 2023 General elections, it has been noticed that some main political actors that the end result didn’t favour, have been issuing public threats which might be directed at instigating actions to frustrate the Presidential inauguration ceremony on twenty ninth May, 2023. The Nigeria Police and the nationwide intelligence group have been carefully monitoring the actions of those political elites in addition to different components who’ve  fashioned themselves into unpatriotic manufacturers whose solely fantasy, in current instances, is to subvert our nationwide safety pursuits.In so doing, they appear to be bent on deploying extra-judicial and undemocratic means to truncate our democratic heritage in development of their slender private political issues.”The post May 29 presidential inauguration remains sacrosanct IGP appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
