The spokesperson of the Lagos state police command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, has acknowledged that afrobeats singer, Seun Kuti, has been placed under arrest following his assault on a police officer. The music of the legendary Fela Kuti turned himself in this morning, May 15. A press release from Hundeyin reads;SERIOUS ASSAULT ON POLICE OFFICER: SEUN KUTI TURNS SELF IN Afrobeat musician, Seun Kuti, in the early hours of at present turned himself in on the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters, Ikeja, in firm of his lawyer and household consultant. He has been placed under arrest in line with the legislation. The Command appreciates the general public for his or her concern and assures that the continued investigation might be detailed, clear, professionally pursued; and justice might be manifestly served for all events concerned.”
