Some voters were already at the polling unit to cast their votes at the time the ICPC officials arrived but Governor El-Rufai himself was yet to arrive.
Headline News recalls Governor El-Rufai won his polling unit with the All Progressive Congress (APC) scoring 173 votes, while the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party got 134 votes during the February 25 presidential election.
Meanwhile, unlike the last elections, officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) arrived early with materials and the election commenced at 8.30 am in most polling units in the metropolis.
