Ambassador Hajiya Sa’adatu Dogonbauchi and Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed, in an open letter, yesterday, appealed to the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to consider Honourable Abiodun Faleke for the Office of Chief of Staff, saying he’s honest, competent and focused.
In a letter jointly written by Ambassador Dogonbauchi and Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed, which was made available to The Guardian, the authors urged President-elect to remember Faleke’s role in the establishment of Tinubu Support Group (TSG), which started mass mobilisation of delegates towards the presidential primary election.
The letter reads in part: “With humility, I write on behalf of over 100 Support Groups under the aegis of the All Progressives Congress (APC); we humbly rejoice with His Excellency President-elect, Asiwaju Tinubu for answers prayer and success in the last presidential poll.
“We look forward to working with you, not only to develop closer relations, but also to concert our efforts in the cause of developing our country. We write to appeal to your good office not to forget our members who for years, have been with you in this journey.
“We are sure His Excellency’s political appointments would give emphasis on those he knows better, who can perform excellent, meritorious service to the nation based on capacity, patriotism, ability, agility and rich experience.
“Your Excellency Sir, all those grassroots political support groups, intellectuals and professionals as well as those who were appointed in the PCC would appreciate if your valuable man in the person of Hon. Abiodun Faleke will take care of the Office of Chief of Staff.
“Faleke’s role in the establishment of Tinubu Support Group (TSG) three years ago began the mass mobilisation of delegates towards the presidential primary election. He was also instrumental in mobilising support groups across the federation, which enabled the TSG to have links to all the nooks and crannies of the country with help of his team.
“Furthermore, he worked tirelessly with APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) team and many support groups to deliver the just concluded election, which made you victorious. Nobody knows the support groups better than him.
“As we have experienced in the past, those who participated in the road to victory got presented as election material without being involved in the formation of the government, which we do know in your government that would never happen.
“Hon. Faleke contributed tremendously during the formation of APC. He is a well-known member nationwide. We hope opportunity would be given to him to be appointed as Chief of Staff to His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”
