The candidate of the Labour Party in Saturday’s governorship election in Abia State, Alex Otti, has cried out over alleged attempts by the ruling Peoples Democratic Party to rob him of his victory.
Otti, who took early lead in the results so far uploaded to INEC portal, in a series of tweets Saturday night, alleged that for all the results uploaded and released, Labour Party won by landslide.
He, however, decried that the PDP-led government in the state has refused to allow some of the results stand.
The Labour Party candidate alleged that the PDP government is doing the result manipulations with the active connivance of some compromised INEC Staff and some security agents.
He identified some of the affected local government areas as Obingwa where the outgoing governor is from, Osisioma, Aba north and Aba.
He, therefore, called on the federal government and particularly, the INEC chairman to ensure that the right thing is done in Abia state by rejecting any result coming out of BIVAS accreditation.
Otti also called on INEC chairman to prevail on the INEC Resident electoral commissioner for Abia and other INEC staff to give peace a chance and ensure that the right thing is done.
He tweeted, “From virtually all the results uploaded and released, Labour Party won by landslide.
“The LG involved are Obingwa where the outgoing governor is from, Osisioma,Aba north and Aba south where we won overwhelmingly.
“Unfortunately the PDP government has refused to allow some of the results stand, and they are doing this with the active connivance of some compromised INEC Staff and some security agents.
“Obingwa is a very interesting case, because in the majority of the wards, with the active connivance of INEC the BIVAS was not used, so they are making efforts to push in fake results.”
