The instant web-based messaging service, WhatsApp, on Tuesday morning, suffered an outage for some minutes preventing users from using the platform to send messages.
Headline News had earlier reported that users of the platform started reporting that they were unable to send or receive messages from their friends, family, and associates from 8 am till around 10 am.
It was learned that the outage affected both personal and group chats alike and WhatsApp Web was also affected by the outage, with the app’s web client failing to connect.
WhatsApp and other social media platforms such as Facebook, Facebook Messenger, and Instagram are owned by American multinational technology conglomerate, META.
According to a technology outage tracker, Down Detector, there was a WhatsApp outage in thirteen countries, rendering billions of users vulnerable.
