13 people injured in Lagos-Ibadan highway accident

As many as 13 passengers sustained various degrees of injuries in the collision along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The road accident occurred in the early hours of Sunday near Parking Lot C in Ogun State.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed the road accident to DAILY POST and said it occurred at around 4:55am.
Ogun State FRSC spokesperson Florence Okupe said the agency’s personnel responded quickly to carry out rescue operations.
She said 22 people were involved in the accident, including 21 adult males and one adult female.
“Thirteen people were injured (12 adult males and one adult female). There was no loss of life as a result of the crash,” Okupe said.
She added that the accident involved three trucks with license plates KBT205XB, KJA230Y and DUT35XE.
Also involved was a Toyota Corolla car registered as MUS793HM and a Toyota Hiace bus marked FG369-F20.
She said the cause of the accident was likely road obstruction and speeding, which led to loss of control.
“The injured victim was taken to Farmobis Hospital Morwe Lot for treatment,” she said.
Meanwhile, the Ogun District Commander of the FRSC, Anthony Ugah, advised motorists to always exercise caution while traveling on roads and also urged them to practice defensive driving.
